Describe how your group planned your shots. What realizations did you make about the kind of planning that needs to happen BEFORE you shoot?  we wrote them down first but we made sure it would look good for when we shot it. You have to plan it out very carefully and precisly and make sure to follow the rule of thirds.

Look at the composition of your over the shoulder shots. Did you follow the rule of thirds? Why or why not?
Tjhe composition of our over the shoulder shots were good but we didnt exactly follow the rule of thirds the whole time because we ran out of time before we thought of it.

What IMPRESSIONS do the over the shoulder shots create about the characters? How does this work?
It gives them a serious tone that adds to the diologue it also shows what they have to say is important and that its worth listening to. This works by making one of the characters voices serious.

How realistic does the dialogue seem in the final edit? What challenges did you have in editing?
The diologue looks very realistic because the two characters match the script very well and there reaction to what the other person told them was very prominent. The video was very short and needed alot of cuts. Also the editing took most of the time to make it look good.

Is there a dominant mood or tone to your video? What is that mood or tone? How did you accomplish this?
Yes, brad made it very serious, his voice was deep which made the tone serious. We accomplished this by having brad be more stern.

What other observations do you have about using over the shoulder shots?
You have to be very close to the shoulder or else it doesnt look right.

What other ideas got emphasized or reinforced about how to make effective videos from doing this exercise?
You have to do alot of editing to make it look as good as you want it

green screen workshop

A green screen makes your background what ever you want it to be. Make sure your screen isnt wrinkled at all. Problems that arise when trying to eliminate a greenscreen is when there is shadows. I think premiere pro was easier but after effects did a much better job.

Holiday project

1. We did a good job on editing and placing ourselves well in the screen.
2. I really wish we put a nice title and some music that went well with it, i saw some groups were the music just flowed perfect with their edits.
3. I picked the backgrounds for both of us but we helped eachother out equally.
4. I helped my partner with his stage fright and he got over it.
5. If i could redo this project i would make it so my partner and I were talking in a conversation and maybe do a few split screens, and I would definatly put some music and a few titles.

This is an example of an template title, which is used to explain whats goin on in the video and name the person in the video. You might use this kind of title when you want to show what is going on in the video while focusing on the words and title.

titles

A simple cut in the timeline means deleting clips. When you cut, the other clips in the timeline the video becomes smaller.

A ripple edit is when you delete a clip and there is a space. You do this by right clicking on the wanted clip to delete. When you ripple delete, the other clips to the right of the deleted clip move over.

Lifting and extracting are two ways to cut out clips at one time. To do this, you delete it. Lifting is like pulling out a clip, while extracting is like deleting, in terms of what happens to the other clips in the timeline.

This is an example of an extracting edit.  I decided to extract the two clips where I did because it seemed to fit the best.
